Man sentenced to passing by hanging, three others imprisoned for seize, pack assault and torment of 20-year-old lady in Edo

 

An Edo Tall Court sitting in Auchi on Thursday, December 7, 2022, sentenced and sentenced one Taofeek Isah to passing by hanging for seize, group assault and torment of a 20-year ancient lady, Favoring Ezekiel, with hurtful substance, whereas three others were sentenced to imprison terms extending from four to 19 years. The convicts, specifically; Taofeek Isah, Jeremiah Okamudu, Godwin Adeyemi, and Supernatural occurrence were brought some time recently the court on a five-count charge of assault, capturing, assault with destructive substance, incurring physical harm and illegal trial by trial. 

The managing judge, Equity Philip Imoedemhe, in his judgment sentenced Isah, the 1st litigant to passing; Jeremiah Okamudu, 2nd litigant to four a long time detainment without choice of fine, whereas Supernatural occurrence Pius , the 4th respondent was imprisoned for 19 a long time without choice of fine. Justice Imoedemhe held that all the prove offered some time recently the court persuaded him past sensible question that the 1st, 2nd and 4th litigants were blameworthy of the charges. 

Imoedemhe requested that Taofeek Isah be sentenced to passing by hanging whereas the other convicts be taken to the Auchi Restorative Middle to serve their imprison terms. The lead prosecutor from the Edo State Service of Equity, Compassionate Eseigbe, had amid the trial, submitted that Isah schemed with three of his companions to seize, pack assault and horrifyingly ambush a 20-year ancient Favoring Ezekiel. The prosecutors said the litigants committed the offenses on October 22, 2021, at Okpella community in Etsako East Neighborhood Government Range of Edo State. 

The offenses committed “are opposite to Segment 4 and Culpable Beneath Segment 5 (1), (B), Area 25 (1) of the Savagery Against People (Denial) Law 2021.
